Mamata Banerjee to sit in Dharna against Centre
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is sitting on dharna at Red
Road from today demanding payment of dues of the state. The Chief Minister's
dharna will begin at 12 noon on Red Road.
Mamata gave the North Center a deadline of January-end to settle the dues of the state. "I will wait till 1stFebruary," said Mamata from the stage of providing Uttarakanya's services. I have given seven days. Give us our money back.” She also warned, "People will not get a house. You will not be paid for the work, and you will stay in the building, I will not tolerate it. I will do whatever I can if I don't get money."
The deadline set by the Chief Minister ended on Thursday. She
will sit on dharna at Red Road today at 12 noon. Other ruling party leaders
will also join the 48-hour dharna stage. She will give the message of a new
fight against the BJP from the meeting of the deprived at Red Road on Saturday.
The Chief Minister returned to Bengal after a five-day district tour on
Thursday. In all districts, he gave a message of struggle for the demand of
dues of the deprived. Mamata Banerjee will give the same message from Red Road
for the next 48 hours.
It is to be noted that earlier, Mamata had staged a two-day
dharna at Red Road to demand recovery of dues from the state. Narendra
Modi government did not budge from that. Later, TMC All India General
Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also protested in Delhi demanding recovery of dues.
