Mamata-Modi Meeting: CM Mamata Banerjee meets PM Modi at new Parliament
Bengal
deprived of dues. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sat in a meeting with
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today to collect the dues of that right. Today,
Wednesday, the meeting with Modi at New Sangsad Bhavan in Delhi started at 11
am. Apart from Abhishek Banerjee, there are 10 other TMC MPs in the meeting
along with Mamata.
After a long
16 months, Mamata Modi meeting has happened. Mamata Banerjee attended the India
Alliance meeting yesterday on her three-day visit to Delhi. Where he proposed
the name of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the prime ministerial
candidate. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also supported the proposal.
The meeting with the Prime Minister the day after that meeting is considered to
be very significant from the political point of view.
Mamata
Banerjee had earlier said that the central government has withheld funds for
several projects, including housing schemes, hundred days of work, rural roads
and health schemes. He will demand that the state settle that debt. The Chief
Minister wanted the Prime Minister's time to talk about the rights of Bengal.
Today's meeting is like that.
Earlier, the
Chief Minister has repeatedly complained about the deprivation of the Centre.
Trinamool general secretary Abhishek Banerjee along with party MPs, ministers
and legislators staged a dharna in Delhi. Mamata's companions Sudip Banerjee,
Sougata Roy, Kalyan Banerjee, Derek O'Brien, Kakali Ghosh Dastidar, Satabdi Roy,
Prakash Baraik, Pratima Mandal, Sajda Ahmed, Nadeemul Haque were present at the
meeting.
