Amit Shah forms new committee ahead of lok sabha polls, places trust on Dilip Ghosh

Big reshuffle within Bengal BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections. After disbanding the core committee of the party, Gerua camp formed a new election committee keeping in mind the Lok Sabha. Significantly, Dilip Ghosh, who was cornered under the pressure of the ruling BJP camp in the state, again got a place in the core committee. Another former state president Rahul Sinha also got the seat.

Bengal BJP's factional feud is always in the headlines. Especially the former state president of the party Dilip Ghosh was practically cornered by the power of the Suvendu-Sukanta camp. Even the demolition of Dilip's house in the Muralidhar Street office did not escape anyone's notice. However, the central leadership trusted Dileep to handle the party's fragile organization before the Lok Sabha. Amit Shah and JP Nadda themselves came and kept him in the 15-member selection committee of the party.

The 15-member committee includes the party's state president Sukanta Majumdar, opposition leaders Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Rahul Sinha, Amitabh Chakraborty, five state general secretaries and five central leaders of the party Satish Dhan, Asha Lakra, Mangal Pandey, Amit Malvya and Sunil Bansal. Significantly, not all members of the core committee were included in the party's election committee. Five central leaders have been replaced. This decision also clearly shows that the central leadership does not have much faith in the state leaders of the party.

According to sources, this 15-member core committee will be responsible for deciding the party's strategy and selecting candidates. Each of them will submit their separate list of candidates to the central leadership. After that, the central leadership will select the candidates.
