ED Calls Lalu and son for questioning in job-for-land scam
Politics of
revenge once again! The ED calls former Bihar Chief
Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday right after the INDI Alliance meeting
on Tuesday. Tejashwi Yadav, the current deputy chief minister of the state, has
also been summoned.
ED has
summoned Lalu Prasad on December 27 and Tejashwi Yadav on December 22 before
that. ED summoned them once again for questioning in job for land scam case. After this, the opposition has raised allegations of revenge.
Without being able to deal with their complaints politically, the BJP
government at the center has again tried to suppress the voice of the
opposition by using the agency.
Incidentally,
Lalu Prasad was granted bail in the case filed against him in exchange for land
in October. Lalu's wife and another former chief minister of Bihar Rabri Devi
and their son Tejashwi Yadav were also granted bail by a Delhi court.
During
Lalu's tenure as Railway Minister in the first UPA government (2004-09), there
were allegations that many Bihar youths were appointed to 'Group D' posts in
the railways in exchange for land. Lalu's wife and former Bihar Chief Minister
Rabri and their two daughters Misa and Hema have been accused. On May 20 last
year, the CBI conducted search operations at a total of 15 places in the
country, including Patna, Delhi, to investigate the incident. After this, raids
were conducted in the houses of several RJD leaders in August. On October 22 of
last year, the CBI presented the charge sheet in the 'job instead of land'
corruption case. Lalu, Rabri and their two daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav
are also named.
