BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar releases from Kolkata’s nursing home
After three days, BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar was
discharged from the hospital. On the way to Sandeshkhali on Wednesday, February
14, he fell ill. BJP claims that Sukanta fell ill due to police harassment.
After initial treatment at Basirhat Hospital, he was admitted to a private
hospital in Kolkata. Sukanta was discharged from the hospital on Saturday
morning. Meanwhile, shortly before Sukanta was discharged from the private
hospital, Dilip Ghosh and Samik Bhattacharya left Kolkata for Delhi to attend
the BJP's national conference.
On Wednesday, the BJP delegation was blocked on its way to Sandeshkhali. Sukanta Majumdar was detained in Takir Hotel due to the new Section 144. However, in the eyes of the police, Sukanta left through the other gate of the hotel with the Saraswati idol in hand. The puja begins by placing the idol on the bank of Ichamati. But after that the situation became increasingly heated. The BJP state president protested by climbing on the bonnet of the police car. The policemen started moving the car. Sukanta fell to the ground with a strong shock. Although the BJP claims, the police threw him. Sukanta lost definition. He was taken to the emergency department of Basirhat Super Specialty Hospital in a police car. Later he was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata.
He was admitted in bed number 129 of neuro intensive care
unit in that private hospital. He underwent CT scan of abdomen, chest, head,
neck and spinal cord. Saline, oxygen and pain killers are also given. The BJP
state president was drowsy for a long time. However, his physical condition
started improving from Thursday morning. Mithun Chakraborty and Sourav Ganguly
went to the private hospital to see Sukanta on Friday. Sukanta got leave the
next day. He left the private hospital sitting on a wheel chair on Saturday. At
that time many BJP workers-supporters gathered outside the private hospital.
Meanwhile, Dilip Ghosh and Samik Bhattacharya left for Delhi from Kolkata to
attend the BJP National Conference on Saturday morning.
